2002-03-10  greenville show: neck thing.

So I'm pretty sure that despite the evidence in my stats, no one reads this anymore. Anyway.

Okay. "Amelie." I think I have blocked that movie out because if I think about it I will curl up in a ball and cry for the rest of my life. But from what I can remember, it was really fucking wonderful. Damn. Why didn't I think to bring tissues?

Manashi and I ate at the Majestic, which is always interesting. I tried to not be distracted by the weirdly-hot 50s-retro boys sitting one table behind Manashi. It was a good evening.

Neil Diamond is at Philips Arena tonight. I wondered what was up when all these old white people got off at the GWCC station.

So I guess the most important thing that happened on Friday was that I got my glasses fixed up at LensCrafters. There was a time after that where Chris and I got seperated and that was kind of annoying, but soon we were on the road and got there with plenty of time. Chris singing Alanis Morrissette songs is one of the funniest things you could ever hear. P.S., he reads some of y'all's LiveJournals and diaries. Just sayin.

Argh, sorry, Amy is driving me insane. Heh.

So anyway... um.... yeah. We got there and saw a lot of great people, including the Huffs and Jenna, my personal heroes. And my boo, and later inside, my Erin (yes, they are mine; I've got the paperwork to prove it :-P). Oh, we laughed at this.

And finally after eating we went inside and saw Jonny jumping rope and then doing situps and I had to hold Jenna back. The girls were in front of me, so I was second row. I like standing behind them. They're small and sane. I wish I could compliment the sanity of others around us, however. Oh well, we were in prime Mattgirl territory after all.

So Candiass was interesting. The sound that night was too loud and gave me a raging headache. So for the first of the Jump show I was like, Ugh, this show is annoying, this crowd is too sordid, at least the friends near me are cool. (Boo and Gretchen were to my left).

But THEN they played "Pink Lemonade." At first I was like, Aw, this song is ruined for me after the B'ham show. Then, Matt comes over to where the Huffs and Jenna and I are. And he kneels down. And while he's doing that I wave a little bit at him, like a dumbass, because he was right in front of me and I didn't know what else to do. So he's kneeling, and singing the song to me, and my hand's on his knee to keep him from falling over, and when he gets up I feel at least 3 pinches and several screams. haha.

So for about 10 minutes after that -- since the show is much better now, you know -- part of my mind is all HELL YEAH BITCHES, THAT'S MY SONG, Y'ALL BETTA RECOGNIZE, YA HEARD ME and I was just all proud of myself. I know, that's so silly. But it was fun.

Okay, I need to eat, so this will be continued.

Right, so. After the show the house music was still really loud and I had an unbelievable headache. Eventually Dave Wills and I went to the Old Evan Dude and got him to turn it down.

So Brookie was there, being all mature, and Rachel was drunk and told Ward he needed to name his instruments. Anna met Jenna and they bonded. Kim had some early birthday fun. Gretchen and I chickened out when Ward took out his wallet. Oh well. He totally doesn't deserve to see that. Heh. I think the fact that I saw some blonde girl give Ward her phone number and he gave her a kiss, and my reaction was basically, "Hey, I don't have an ass either," probably means something.

JM had the brilliant idea of picking up chairs and throwing them at the teenyboppers, like in wrestling, but sadly we didn't actually do it.

So everyone was leaving, just about, but I couldn't find Chris. There were only sketchy people around. Megan and JM wanted to leave. I was starting to panic because I hate it when shows end in a crappy way, but I finally asked Matt if he'd seen Chris. So Matt and I got to talk for a bit. He did the neck thing. Shhhhh. We talked about the next Tea Time. At one point, while he was hugging me, (god help me, I sound 12) he goes, "I have a special surprise for you," and I looked at Megan and said, "Oh, shit," and he said "Turn around," and there was Chris. So eventually after that we departed and went to Waffle House with Stephanie Anne, who says that my entries crack her up. I took some Excedrin. SA followed us back to Georgia. Did you know rap keeps you awake on late-night drives?

You know, I think it's interesting that there are things at Jump shows that make me/other people very happy and amused and moved, and that to balance that out, there is shit that just disgusts/annoys the hell out of you. That wasn't brought on by anything, just a general thought. You can also easily reverse the order of that statement.

I'm so glad I didn't have to go to work today.
